Anahita's Naming Ceremony

For a long time we have been intending to have something like a naming ceremony for Anahita. This ceremony is intended to welcome Anahita into the community and to establish some special relationships for her.



Since we don't follow any of the major conventional religions, we designed our own small ritual around this event.



The central part of the ceremony was the burying of the placenta and the planting of a fig tree above it.



All this happened in the beautiful garden of Mirjam and Rudolf in Southshore, Christchurch. Mirjam and Rudolf will accomagny Anahita throughout her life as Spiritual Companions



Also, Claudia and Markus, visiting from Switzerland, have agreed to be Anahita's Godmother and Godfather.



Unfortunately the weather didn't hold up for long, and when the rain started we moved inside for a nice meal and enjoyed the time together!
